After being criticized for her out of shape self, Rani has finally managed to achieve a leaner frame and all this with the help of good old friend Aamir.

Just when Rani Mukherjee was struggling badly to lose weight, good friend Aamir came to her rescue.

Rani has always been struggling to look slim, from strict diets to regular working out regimes; Rani has tried all she could to fight flab but all her attempts failed. And that’s when Aamir suggested his personal trainer Stayajit Chaurasia’s name to Rani.

Satyajit Chaurasia played a major part in helping Aamir achieve the eight-pack abs look for Ghajini.

Being impressed by his work Aamir suggested Rani to hire Satya as her personal trainer. And as they say, hard work pays, after working out an hour every day for two months, Rani has been able to lose oodles of weight and look the way she has always wished for.

The all new Rani did a cameo in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne…in a song with Shah Rukh Khan. Her new slim look had the audience in awe and reminded one of her Ghulam and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai days.

Katrina Kaif is allegedly getting quite possessive about Salman as she is rumored to be visiting the sets of Veer everyday to keep an eye on Salman.

A source on the sets of Veer says, “Zarine Khan is making every effort to get friendly with Salman. However, Salman Khan is in a different mood ever since the shooting at Film City began. Incidentally, he turned aloof just when Katrina Kaif started visiting him on the sets. Considering that Katrina seldom visits Salman’s sets, this new development has caught the unit of the film off guard.”

However Salman is not interested in Zarine and rarely talks to her, “Often Zarine pulls up a chair to sit near Salman Khan but he does not pay attention. When Zarine tries to talk to Salman, he only replies in monosyllables. This only discourages her further. And if Katrina Kaif is around, Salman Khan only pays attention to Katrina by spending all his free time with her.”

When Katrina was asked about her visits to the sets, she said, Yes, I did go to the sets of ‘Veer’ but only one day. That’s because Anil Sharma, the director of ‘Veer’ is my friend.”

Veer producer also confirms Katrina’s presence however denies the possessive angle, Vijay Galani says, “Katrina came to Film City on Tuesday, though she has come to the sets of ‘Veer’ a few times earlier too. But Katrina and Zarine get along very well.”

Currently in London, Shilpa Shetty is enjoying the Christmas week. She is reveling in the Christmas presents that beau Raj has gifted her.

Shilpa says it’s amazing to be in Santa land and see the spirit with which all caste and creed celebrate Christmas in London.

“I enjoy the trees beautifully lit up, hustle & bustle of last minute Christmas shopping, excitement & warmth on people’s faces” says the actress.

“We decorated the Christmas tree and placing our little gifts for every member of the family & friends at Raj’s beautiful country home… 25th December started with all of us opening our gifts (loved my gifts)… was so exciting…

Then Shamita and I took over the kitchen like there was no tomorrow. Marks & Spencers food store is a scary place to be in pre-Christmas!! People shop like there’s no tomorrow and who says there is a credit crunch” she informs.

The actress also cooked dinner for her beau and family that night. Shilpa says she loves cooking but preparing feast for 15 people was backbreaking but worth all the same when showered with huge compliments which we thoroughly lapped up.

She goes on to add “Dinner was a lavish (healthy), exotic spread …. fruit punch, salmon & chicken appetizers with some dips, Golden Roasted stuffed Turkey, (it looked like a tandoori turkey by the time I was finished with it!!!!) Yorkshire pudding, Mozzarella Salad, Roasted Parsnips Organic vegetables, corn pulao, brussel sprouts with roasted chestnuts… and finally topped it with a two layered chocolate cake and apple crumble with ice cream and traditional mince pies with warm custard.

When asked how did Raj enjoy the cuisine that she spread for him Shilpa laughs and says “Raj nearly fainted with shock seeing the spread and I nearly collapsed with fatigue.

But Christmas comes once a year!!! Also the family sat around the dining table and we did remember 26/11 and prayed for the departed souls before thanksgiving.”

From here Shilpa will be heading for Spain where she plans to spend the New Year and with beau Raj of course.

All of 21, Kangna Ranaut has seen and suffered a lot (in her own words) during last few years in showbiz!

In an earlier conversation, she had admitted that she was going through bad times. She had said, “I got everything very soon in my life but personally my life was going through too much of trauma.

I was really trapped by dirty people and they wouldn’t let me concentrate on my work. They tried to harm me both physically as well as mentally.”

However, everything seems to be passe now ever since she moved on to ‘yoga’. The biggest gift she’s received from this, she says, is the practice of Silence or “Maun”. The practice of staying silent physically brings to the fore the tremendous busy-ness of the mind and help to bring some quiet there as well.

Effervescent and vivacious by nature, Kangna has found a ‘thehrav’ in her life ever since she adopted ‘maun’. “Initially I found it very difficult to stay silent; however through perseverance I did manage to develop this as a regular part of my yoga practice and have benefited ever since.”

“When I am working, I have to give it 100%. So that’s why I took a break for my personal work to sort out all my issues and only then got back to work. I did not want to struggle between work and personal issues. I am not that kind of a person. I can do only one thing at a time”, she had stated earlier.

“Now, through Silence, I feel I’ve discovered my Soul, the very centre of my being, which is the source of all my energy – creative, spiritual, emotional and mental.

I’ve always been a very focused person, and I’ve chosen to portray characters in my film that are challenging and strong. This awareness and practice has given me greater ability to channel my energy effectively to deliver even better on these performances”, she says in an obvious relaxed tone.

Through shooting Raaz-The Mystery Continues, Kangna has been even more diligent about this practice. That’s because the character is one who gets possessed and has to deal with the horrific consequences.

“The role required a lot from me. It’s a very intense role. So it was imperative to keep my practice alive during the outdoor schedules to be able to maintain the focus and equanimity needed to deliver the required performance.”

“I know where I want to go. That inner destination’s where my eventual goal is”, concludes Kangna

If all had gone well Asin would have moved into her own home in Mumbai by now.

“But I’ve been traveling non-stop. I had no time time to look around and find a place. But now we’re finalizing a place in Bandra. Hopefully by new year I’ll lock in to the place.And we’ll move in. Right now we feel a little unsettled. In Mumbai you desperately need your own home.”

Asin’s parents have moved from Chennai to Mumbai with her. “Both of them gave up their jobs to be with me. Mom is a doctor. She has taken voluntary retirement.

She manages my home now. And Dad had seven business enterprises. He gave them up to look after my career. Right now I’m quite a handful and worth more than all his business ventures.”

And she bursts into peals of laughter.

Asin is a fun-loving extremely atypical South Indian who chatters non-stop, if allowed.

She admits she was asked to keep quiet. “The marketing team felt better that I keep my distance from the press until the film’s release. However that didn’t stop wildly-speculative writeups about me. I read things about myself that I didn’t know.”

Like feeling insecure about her co-star Jiah Khan? “Is that really me? I’ve worked in South Indian films with female co-stars and never felt insecure. I worked with Nayantara in the Tamil Ghajini without my conflict.

Why would I feel threatened by Jiah? Was this a publicity strategy? It was being implied that I was somehow responsible for keeping Jiah out of the publicity. I don’t know how one heroine can influence a huge marketing strategy.”

Jiah and Asin have no scenes together. “But we have of course met and we’re very cordial with one another. We got along fine. I’ve had no fights with any one in Tamil or Hindi cinema so far. All these stories of friction make me feel strange. I wonder who these people who spread such rumours are.”

And no, Asin was under no contract with the Ghajini makers. “I’m under no contract. Didn’t I sign London Dreams while Ghajini was being shot?

If I haven’t signed another film, it’s because I haven’t come across anything exciting. I was supposed to do Priyadarshan’s film with Akshay Kumar. But that clashed with the Ghajini ’s promotional dates.”

She will be moving into her new home in Bandra in January after the release of her first Hindi film Ghajini.

“But even without my own home I feel at home in Mumbai. For one almost the entire unit of Ghajini was South Indian. Most of them were people I had worked with. So we were constantly chattering on the sets in Tamil or Telugu. Except of course Aamir Khan who was new to all of us.”

London Dreams was much tougher. “The total crew was totally Bollywood. So practically speaking London Dreams is my first Bollywood experience.

Ghajini was easier than my second Hindi film London Dreams where I had to start from scratch with the character. In Ghajini my character remained untampered except the language. Here I was speaking Hindi instead of Tamil. Otherwise no changes.”

Her character is not the archetypal glamorous decorative doll. “I play a struggler in the ad world one of the many eager faces you see hanging out at ads shoots.”

Asin’s Hindi has always been good and she won’t require any dubbing from outsiders, thank you.

How different is Aamir from Salman Khan? “While Aamir mulls overs scenes Salman must be prepared from beforehand. Because you don’t seem him rehearse on the sets. But everyone in Mumbai is thoroughly professional”

As for Mumbai being wary of stepping into theaters right now Asin exudes confidence. “I’m hoping by Christmas time they’d be enthused into watching an Aamir Khan film. I’m put in my best efforts in Ghajini.”

After he stripped down to the barest minimum on the beach in “Dostana”, John Abraham now has reportedly bared all for a torture scene in his next film “New York”.

In the tale of friendship and terrorism by director Kabir Khan, John has done a complete nude shot for a prison scene.

John would be the third Bollywood actor in recent times to drop all his inhibitions. Earlier, Kunal Kapoor in “Rang De Basanti” and Ranbir Kapoor in “Saawariya” did bare-back scenes that were deleted when the films opened.

But John’s nude scene is set to remain in “New York”, which is slated for a January release.

Said a source close to the project: “It’s a prison sequence in the US where John, who is suspected to be a terrorist, is denuded of all dignity. This is how they break your spirit in an American prison when they want you to confess to being a terrorist.

“They make you eat, sleep, urinate and defecate in the same room. Then they begin to strip your dignity down … until you are left in the cold, dingy cell completely naked. John had to enact this sequence.”

When briefed about the sequence, John apparently didn’t hesitate for a second.

“He immediately agreed to do the scene and was quite traumatised at the end of it,” the source added.

While John refused to comment on the scene, director Kabir Khan smiled and said: “You’ll just have to see the film to know the nature of the scene.”

The Saif -Kareena love story is only a year old but still hasn’t lost its charm. Saif is completely cleaned bowled by his sweetheart. Thanks to the cell phone every time both of them are at different locales for their shoot, that’s the only thing that keeps them connected.

Saif is said to follow his lady love everywhere she goes. Currently he happened to follow her to Philadelphia where they both are shooting for Rensil D’Silva’s film. He was there to carry her when she fainted due to the cold weather.

Even for their birthdays they were together. She surprised him by throwing a bash for him in Mumbai in the month of Aug and he flew to Srinagar for her birthday where she was shooting for her film, She was said to be shooting at Ladakh for the film Three Idiots with Aamir Khan.

Right from the time they have fallen in love, Saif loves to pamper her. He picks her and drops her to events and pays visits to her on her sets and sometimes gives his opinion on her work, like he did for Golmaal returns.

It seems he even supervises her interior work that’s happening in her apartment, when she is not in town. In return Kareena is also said to be crazy about Saifu.

She happened to go to meet him in Delhi where he was shooting for his home production and also fasted for him on Karva Chauth.

It seems she is the only privileged one, amongst all other Saif’s girlfriends who happened to visit his native place Pataudi with his parents.

The love birds just can’t keep them selves off each other, Saif happened to accompany her to Paris for her Globus photo shoot and was said to be admiring his girl pouting and posing for the shoot. He also gave her company on the sets of Kambakht Ishq in the US.

He was upset with her when she got friendly with Slyvestor Stallone.

Kareena was also present on the sets of his home production directed by Imtiaz Ali and played perfect hostess to his parents who visited them on the sets and when they attended a film awards function in London, she introduced him to her extended family including Shammi Kapoor who approved of her choice.

The couple is said to be cuddling and indulging in some PDA in between rehearsals for the show. When Kareena was shooting in Australia for Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Saif was in London for his home production both of them flew halfway across the world to be together at the IIFA Awards in Bangkok.

He was there just for a day and dint like Kareena’s revealing outfit. Before that they were in Greece shooting for Tashan. She had fainted there too and Saif was very upset over her eating habits.

It’s due to his constant pressure, that her anorexic look has changed considerably and now we can see a glow on her face.

Every time one mentions Saif in front of Bebo you tend to see the damsel blushing. Chote nawab also leaves no stone unturned to pamper his girl.

He happens to gift her with diamonds all the time and there is one special one which she wears all the time. Kareena too loves to shop for him and his kids Sara and Ebrahim who seem to be very fond of her.

Even though the film Tashan was a big failure in the box office, but its always going to be a special film for the both of them coz that’s where the couple met and fell in love and since then it was no turning back for them.

Saif just can’t wait to get married to his lady love but it’s Kareena who wants to wait for some more time before she becomes his better half.
